Cheerleaders

So the reason I was in LA a couple of months back was to shoot this viral video for clothing brand Company81.

It's called "When Cheerleaders Attack"

We also created a micro-site where you can send a personalized cheer to a friend, squad81.com and redesigned their main site. Company81.com

The view from my window

The view from my office window, not that exciting but very New York and the sun's out.

Rubbish

Yeah, despite my good intentions I've been rubbish at keeping this thing up to date. Anyway to avoid sliding down an excessively paved causeway to the fiery place, I'm going to make a second half of the year's resolution to be better - should last a good week or so I reckon. Anyway be sure to leave comments and help me feel that someone is actually reading this nonsense.

BBQ

That's it the summer must be officially here because we had a BBQ this weekend. Everyone went round to Chase's place in Greenpoint and a few of us foreigners (including an Aussie) were inducted in the traditional American Kegstand.

Bank Holiday

Just like in the UK today was a bank holiday here (although they call them public holidays). This one was Memorial day which is kind of like our Remeberance day. Read more here. It's also known as the unnoficial start of the Summer and unlike British bank holiday the weather was stunning.

Yesterday we spent some time wandering around the city and visiting a number of flea markets (kind of like boot fairs).

The route we followed can be found here.

DC

This weekend we went to Washington DC for a house warming party. While we were there we thought we drop in on George - he didn't seem to be in.

We also visited the National Portrait Museum

Ed Harcourt at Mercury Lounge

We saw Ed Harcourt (supported by his good lady) play at the Mercury Lounge, which is a tiny little venue on Houston street. Despite the fact that he claimed to be exhausted as it was the last day of the tour, he played  a great long set including some interesting new versions of some of his older tracks.

Board

Last week the company decided to reward us all for a couple of intense months work with a ski trip. We went to Hunter in the Catskill mountains.

We stayed a night in a lodge right on the side of the mountain.

I attempted to Snowboard, but pretty much spent all of my time falling down the mountain.

Still there was plenty of alcohol to numb the pain.

GIANTS WIN SUPERBOWL XLII

WHAT A GAME - The New York Giants overcame all the odds to beat the undefeated Patriots 17-14.
No one really gave the Giants much of a chance but with an incredible defensive display and Eli Manning stepping up when it rally mattered the Giants defied everyones expectations.

The winning drive contained one of the greatest plays in Superbowl history with Eli avoiding what looked like a certain sack. He then lofted a pass to little used Wide Reciever David Tyree who made an impossible catch against the side of his helmet.

Quiet possibly the greatest game in superbowl history, certainly the biggest upset. It was fun to watch (especially with a group of Pats fans) and New York is sure to be partying for some time.

Holiday party in Philadelphia

We drove up to Philadelphia this weekend for a holiday party with some of Jill's friends. Good party with beer pong going in the basment and we even came away with a electric fondue set - nice.
