At the Comic Con

This weekend we went to the New York Comic Convention. I picked up a few cool toys and art prints and Jillian even got her David Horvath Ugly Doll signed.

Halloween

As aslway New York went crazy for Halloween this year. It was an on journey back on the subway Friday night with Zombies, robots and a whole hive's worth of killer bees. I hate to think what anyone from a culture that doesn't do Halloween would think.

Anyway we had fun carving our Pumpkins and went to a great party as Little Red Riding-hood and the Big Bad Wolf.

Jill's show

For the next couple of months Jillian has an exhibition of her artwork on at a new space in New Jersey -  The Stockinette. Below are a few pictures from the opening nights, but to really appreciate the beauty and detail of the work, check out her website. It's still a work in progress at the moment, but if you click on the blog section you can see a number of her paintings and the stories behind them Jillianelisearran.com

High above NYC

It was a perfect day for a helicopter ride so me and Dad decided to spend half an hour hovering above the city.

Portland again

It's strange flying to Portland, it takes nearly six hours to get here from New York which is virtually enough time to get back to the UK. Although in many ways despite being in the same country it is like another world.

Right now I'm sat outside Peet's Cafe in what should be rush hour and it's fantastically quiet, relaxed and just perfect fall weather. It's kind of hard to get a handle on as a city and as an area in a strange way it feels more like a village then a city. It's got quite a cool creative vibe going on and some great stores and bars.

Defiantly the kind of place you want to come for a vacation, if only I wasn't here for meetings :(

And it's good
The Giants squeak by the Bengals 26-23 in overtime. It was an amazing atmosphere, perfect weather and a fantastic day.
